Built on deep expertise

Urbanistas is founded on our founder's decade-plus of hands-on LEED and multi-system certification delivery — work that took some of the most complex, first-of-their-kind projects from early concept through final certification. That is the foundation we build upon.

The depth of her delivery record is the experience behind us:

• 34 projects across the full LEED roster, spanning BD+C, O+M, ID+C, and Homes.
• 8.6M sq ft of total LEED project area contributed.
• 13 LEED Platinum certifications across BD+C, O+M, and ID+C.
• Bulgaria's first LEED Platinum (v4 ID+C) commercial interior, and Bulgaria's first LEED Platinum (v4 O+M) existing building.
• Pioneering work in an emerging market — among the earliest LEED-certified buildings in Bulgaria.

This is the practice of our founder, Boyka Ognyanova, M.Arch. — a decade-plus of hands-on LEED delivery that Urbanistas was built on and continues to build upon. It is not a corporate track record we are claiming for ourselves, and it is not a single résumé. It is the seasoned, hands-on judgement we encode into how we work, so the same rigor reaches every project we touch — not only the one a senior expert happens to be assigned to.

That expertise carries a working command of LEED 2009, v4/v4.1, and the emerging v5; the credentials to back it — LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP ID+C, WELL AP, EDGE Auditor/Expert, and GreenPoint Rated. As USGBC Faculty — one of around 180 in the program worldwide — and a USGBC Approved Instructor for LEED v5 BD+C and LEED v5 O+M, she authors and teaches the education USGBC publishes, has guest-lectured at UC Berkeley Extension, and serves as a GBCI LEED AP Subject Matter Expert helping keep the credential itself rigorous.
